HEC Scholarship 2024 for Undergraduate GB Students

Gilgit Baltistan students can now apply for HEC Scholarship 2024 from the Higher Education Commission (HEC) to study at prestigious universities and institutions in Pakistan. Scholarships are available to students who want to enroll in undergraduate programs (four- or five-year BS degrees) in public sector universities or degree awarding institutions (DAIs) approved by the HEC. The Undergraduate Scholarship Program for the Students of Gilgit-Baltistan at Top Pakistani Universities/Institutions (Batch-IV)” project is offering scholarships for the academic year 2024–25 in all fields of study and disciplines.

The deadline for applications is September 30, 2024. Those that meet the requirements can apply via the HEC portal. Hard copy applications will not be accepted. HEC Undergraduate Scholarship 2024 Eligibility Criteria

Domicile of Gilgit-Baltistan or local certificate is required for applicants. Applicants must have obtained Secondary School Certificate (SSC), Higher Secondary School Certificate (HSSC) or its equivalent. However, preference will be given to students from Gilgit-Baltistan who have passed or completed their SSC, HSSC, or equivalent. Those who have already secured a scholarship elsewhere are not eligible to apply. Candidates can submit application in any Pakistani university or other public institution. Nevertheless, the student is responsible for covering any additional expenses beyond the budget specified in PC-1. As per last date of application, maximum age limit is 22 years. How to Apply for HEC Scholarship 2024 for GB

It is necessary for candidates to apply online at https://eportal.hec.gov.pk.HEC retains the right, at any time and for any cause, to halt or terminate the scholarship program. Applications sent on paper will not be accepted. In addition to uploading a scanned copy or image of the bank receipt online during the registration process, candidates must deposit Rs.500 (non-refundable) as the application fee in Account No. 1742 7900 133401, Habib Bank Limited, SRC H-9 Branch, Islamabad. Last Day September 30, 2024 is the deadline for applications to be received. In order to receive support in the event of any inconvenience, applicants must apply well in advance of the closing date and are encouraged to often monitor their emails and the HEC website for developments.

The Education Testing Council, HEC, will administer the eligibility test, and candidates will be shortlisted based on their test results and educational background. Applicants must receive a minimum of 50% of the possible points. Candidates may also be those who were enrolled in any BS program offered by public universities or institutes prior to the advertisement, for a maximum of one academic year or session. Scholarships will be given out without regard to a candidate’s gender, caste, color, or religion.
